Good question Greg - I've never had a clutch go bad on me so I would like to know myself . I hope it s not one of things where it just suddenly goes and leaves you stranded. But from what I hear one of the symptoms would be if you have trouble getting it into gear. Since I'll be getting an SC or a TT pretty soon something tells me I'll have first hand experience with this, not that I'm looking forward to it. Hopefully a few owners can add some other possible symptoms.

Hi: Smell when engaging, Too much chatter. And, of course, slipping. Sometimes a good test is in 5th or 6th gear. Just go to WOT at low speeds such as 20 MPH and see if the engine accelerates and the car does not. Stock clutches were crap on the early C5's. Good Luck! I went with the Cartek Package when my stock clutch s**t the bed. Happy Holidays to all.
