Default Catch Can Installed Correctly?

Can you take a look at these 2 photos and verify that I have my catch can installed correctly? I'm mainly concerned with the location and orientation of the PCV valve. It's a 2002 Z06.

I have the LS6 motor also.(2003) Top hose of catch can to valley cover. Side hose of catch can to PVC location (leaving the PVC valve) in original location.

You've got it on there and plumbed correctly.

Out of curiosity, what do you all do with the oil that is captured? Do you dump it back into the crankcase or do you dispose of it?

I have a metal oil can w/ squirt spout , that I keep out in the garrage ,to do oil maintainance with. I drain often and transfer to the oil can.

Dr. Dieter Grafl, manager of a physical and chemical laboratory for Dana Corp. helped create a very effective oil/air seperator. One of the key elements of this device is maintaining a temperature differential between the hot blowby gasses and the "can" into which the air was directed. The oil would coalesce against the cooler "can", effectively extracting oil that would easily bypass mesh-type filters or in his design, air-spinning helixes.

My point? The catch can should be located in a cool area. Mounting the can to a hot engine head is a sure way to allow airborn oil to travel into your intake. I still can't understand why some catch can vendors advocate that installation position.

The oil will be contaminated with combustion byproducts & other nasty stuff.....never re-use it.
