Default What are these tubes ?

I just noticed that there are two tubes that are disconnected on the
passengers side of engine. Does anybody know where/what these tubes go to. 2000 Corvette has been modified with a Vortech Supercharger. Thanks it is the heater core tubes.

As promised here are the pictures of the tester I made to check my heater core for leaks.
On the first, 3/4" heater hose, I used band clamps, 3/4" PVC hose ends with 3/4" female threads. On this hose I used a 3/4" to 1/4" adapter, to screw in a 0 to 100 PSI gauge. On the second 3/4" heater hose, I used band clamps, 3/4" PVC hose ends with 3/4" male threads to attach a 3/4" screw on PVC end cap, in which I had drilled and inserted a metal tire valve.
The remaining ends of the two hoses were attached to the heater core tubes coming out of the firewall on the passenger side with band clamps. Hose length is up to you, I have had a stroke so
I made mine long enough for me to handle. I recommend only 20 PSI or less to pressurize heater core for test. Use Teflon tape on all screw on connections. If you get a small leak over a long period, check all clamps and use soapy water to check all connections. A large drop in pressure would indicate heater core has a leak. Hope this helps somebody.

certainly looks like heater core tubes. have you ever used your heat to see if you have any? do you see the two rubber hoses that are supposed to be attached to them? if those are the heater core tubes...then the two rubber hoses would be joined with a flushing tee or something similar.

Can't really tell from the photo, but the lines with the covers look like the AC lines which means the photo is at the passengers side near the firewall. Which I would assume makes those lines the heater core lines.

May be a cracked heater core? It happens, not very often though.

How long have you had the car? And where do you live? Maybe it does not get cold enough to use the heater...

Those are indeed your heater core lines. I just went outside and checked for you. they look like 3/4" hose it runs from those lines to the waterpump outlet on the passenger side of the motor by the big lower radiator hose. Sounds like someone has bypassed your heatercore.

I had to do it on my dads 01 blazer when his heatercore went to ****. so he could contine driving it, it was spitting out hot steam in the middle of the summer..

I then had to pull the dash and swap it out with a new heatercore.

WAIT! It may be disconnected because it leaks etc. Check it out before running water through it, or try to contact the previous owner to find out for sure.
