I have a set of headers on my '99 and because they are hot, they are melting the O2 sensor harness. has anyone had this problem, and were you able to solve it? Thanks
You can get some wire ties and tie the wires to some other parts to keep them out of the way. You can also get FireSleeve at Jegs, slit it and wrap the wires with that to keep them insulated. Also, make sure when you tie them up that they are as far away from the headers as possible.
I ran mine the other side of the tunnel plate and use ties to keep them as far away from the headers in other places. The tightest spot is in the engine compartment.
Not this, but similar: http://www.heatshieldproducts.com/heat_shield_tape.php
I bought some silver reflective aluminum like tape at autozone and
1) wrapped wires
2) taped then with the excess tape to something out of the way, I think the bellhousing (hot, but not 1500 degrees hot).
