Lets face it, the c5 is notorius for getting sandy & dusty under the hood. I have pressure washed it several times with out any problems but lately, the last 2 times I must have gotten something wet that it doesnt like. It wants to misfire until it dries up. I just need to know where to keep away from. I dont wail on it with the pressure, I just quickly skim over the top of everything except the battery area.
Anybody ?
dont power wash it at all. eventually you'll burn out the knock sensor. its located in the space under the intake manifold and it puddles right on the sensor, so it shorts it. try a different way of washing the engine
but the miss is probably from the coils. i would avoid the fuel rail cover area.

I stopped pressure washing engines when cars started coming from the factory with fuel injection. The most compelling part of the story, is that the second from the last time, it lead to the car misfiring, but you went ahead and did it again. Maybe third times a charm.
I leave the fuel rail covers on,
cover the battery den and the aternator and pressure wash at least 2x per drive season... BUT I do it early morning on a forecast hot sunny day and leave it bake in the sun until dry before I start it...
I've never put a hose to the engine of my vette but I've read that others have and have used a leaf blower to help dry the engine compartment. My SO thinks I'm a nut for hand washing around the head covers, rails etc, but it sure looks nice when clean and shiny under the hood. A hood seal keeps a lot of dust out too.

do not use water. use a power blower to get rid of all the dirt and debris.
Try the opposite approach with a vacuum and soft brush. Use a crevice attachment if you have one. Then go over what you can with a rag. Not perfect but it looks OK and less worry.
