I will be doing some work on my 2000 FRC. Drivetrain will be out and it would be a good time to change the clutch and hydraulics. I have narrowed it down to these two units. Which suits my vehicle the best? Should I use a steel or aluminum flywheel with the Spec3+? How many miles can I expect from either clutch? I drive the car daily with aprx. 6k miles a year and visit 1/4 track 2 or 3 times a year on drag radials.
I can tell you that I just had a Tex OZ700 Zgrip installed yesterday and so far i'm extremely happy with it. I know it's been getting flamed alot on the forum lately but I LOVE mine so far.
I have ZERO chatter and it engages so nice. Once you drive the car for a little bit it will drive like stock and when you want it to...it grabs HARD.

i am in the same boat. FRC bolt ons will eventually do a H/C/I later. is the spec 3 + a puck design clutch or full face. also is the spec 3+ needed or could the spec 2+ be ok. i will probably be going with a steel billet flywheel because i hit the track about 5-7 times a year around 3-5 passes each time. I have heard great things about the TEX but also heard bad things, is there anybody who has had both? which is the best?
Im also in the same boat. I did a heads, cam, intake mod and my stock ZO6 clutch had a melt down! I decided on SPEC Duel Disk but was also considering a Fridenza duel disk.
The SPEC Duel Disk would be the SS or P trim. Anybody have any expierence with this clutch?? I know it's overkill but,,,,
I used to run a a SPEC 3, not a 3+ with Fidanza flywheel. It was a good combo and the car really accelerated quicker. However, that combo wasn't that easy to drive around town or in stop and go traffic. I got used to it and didn't give it much thought but if you were on an incline and didn't give it a lot of revs it would chatter.
When I swapped my 403 in I put a Tex 0Z700 with billet flywheel in. It chattered also at first, but now after about 500 miles it is very smooth and much more forgiving than the SPEC. I'm not sure if it's the billet steel flywheel or just the clutch itself, but it's definitely easier to drive from a stoplight.
As far as I can tell, they both held power great. The pedal pressure on the SPEC was a little more than the Tex. The Tex is just a little more than stock, I think. I haven't driven a stock M6 since I first had the car.
