Had car at stealership to replace BCM OUCH . Tech tell's me i need a new column lock motor . Ouch agian . SO i bought a CLB hopeing to bypass that motor . I already have the K harness recall fix . My question is will my CLB be of any help"
The K Harness still provides power to the lock. I'm not sure if this is how the BCM get's it's feedback but the K harness solution has been proven to be less effective than the CLB. If you have the CLB and there are none of the Column Lock recalls done that modified the BCM wiring then you should be able to remove the K harness and plug in the CLB for a more reliable solution.
I installed the CLB when I first bought my car in 2000 and have never had any issue. I never let GM touch the car for any recalls either.
