It's a personal thing, but as much as I love my C5, and know the C5 is a better car all the way around, I like the looks of the C4. Maybe it is because I was a young guy when they were new...

This Vette is PERFECT!!!
Ball Park new: $45,320 base price + $4,000 in options -> $49,320
I got a ball park from Kelley Blue book:
retail: $25,445; private: $22,020
nice car, but way overpriced. if you are that worried about low mileage, buy a brand new C6, that way when you over-pay for a car, it can be justified!!
I had a 95 convertible and enjoyed it. The door panels are a pos design and they just work themselves off the door eventually. If you drive a C4 listen to it as you drive over bumps and open/close the door. When you drive a C5 you will notice a quieter and softer ride more for the older crowd I just had to say that!!
I love my Z06 but had a hard time getting over the big butt when I first saw the C5s, now I love the big butt.

Unfortunately guys, can;t afford a new C6, or I would definitely agree with you and purchase one. Just very hard to determine what is a fair price for these beauties. Any idea what would be fare price to negotiate for this car? Is Kelley Blue Book pricing a good starting point at, say $22K?
You gotta be kidding with this post I had an 84 loved the car (Still do! Sold it to a family mamber and its still going stronger than ever)and it was quick. The seats are great fitting. But stepping into a C5 is a different world. All the problem issues from the C4 years were addressed in the C5 platform. Thats the how they evolve. each generation bilds on the strengths of the last generation. I still thing the C4s are a great car , and I keep seeing a C4 Grandsport about 2 mornings a week where I live and the car looks bad ***. But in all fairness to that generation you can not compare them.
I had a couple of C4s; Mine was an 85 HEAVLY modified, and my wife's was an 86 lightly modded. They were great cars for the time, but now I have two C5s and they're built on a different PLANET!!
I really liked the C4s but I LOVE the C5. definitely night and day difference.
I had a 93 C4 with the 300 hp LT1 engine and several "bolt ons"for more performance. I drove it regularly for 11 years and 165000 miles, so I know the car. I also have owned a C3 for 5 years and a C5 for nearly 5 years, and they're frequently driven. The C4 was a radically re-engineered vette, when compared to everything before it. But I always thought the styling was too conservative (never ugly!) and the mechanicals very complex and prone to breakage. The C5 is simply a more refined vette that produces greater power with less effort and increased reliability. It has a more solid chasis, roomier interior, and a dramatically shaped body. Frequently though, I miss the slightly less refined feel of the C4. Thats when I drive the C3 which is raw, primitive, noisy - and a hell of a lot of fun to drive - with the sexiest and most stylized of all corvette bodies. But they're all VETTES, and I tend to appreciate the C4 more as it becomes older and less frequently seen..
I still own one of each, a 91 convertible with 34,000 miles and a 99 FRC with 40,000 miles. They are both GREAT cars ,but if i could only have one, it would be a C5 HANDS DOWN.
