Headers and Exhaust gaskets

Is it acceptable to use standard steel exhaust gaskets when installing headers or should you use header style only gaskets...? Thanx in advance

Yeah, you can us GM gaskets. I just installed my headers and bought some really nice aluminum gaskets from Summit Racing, no leaks so far. I just made sure I picked out gaskets with round ports.

You can use the GM gaskets. The round port gaskets are GM# 126 17944. If you need the air tube gaskets they are GM# 125 53617.

I reused the air tube gaskets but got the new ones listed above and they work great...

Stock GM gaskets are great, and are actually very popular when running headers

i reused my stock gm gaskets with absolutely no leaks at the head...

saved me cash and they worked well..
