Hmmmmm..... Time to open a shop for doing nothing but headers, catbacks, cam / springs, wheels and suspension installs !! Or a shop where you can rent space and or help (if needed) to do your own installs.

Just pull the push rods?
Pull the pushrods. You don't want anything pushing on the lifters until you get the 5/16" rods in.

So at what point do you insert the wooden dow rods. Before cam removal? Of course after pull push rods.

turn the cam so as it pushes up the lifters,push in rods, pull cam. or pull cam and push in rods, not sure, need beer to remember...LOL

Turn the cam first so it pushes up all the lifters, then push in wooden dowl rods and finally pull out the cam and then reinsert new cam.

In reply, yeah, I'd do it again. Like the other poster said, it's tedious, and dirty, but worth it to DIY. You learn alot about your car, and save a bunch of money. Great step-by-step instructions @ ls1howto, and always help here too.
