Optimum Tire Pressure - Cold
What's your take on the optimum tire pressure? Remember, cold.

I have been running 30psi all around. At 11,000 miles, the tires show very little wear. :chevy

Re: Optimum Tire Pressure - Cold ('98 Six Speed)
Merry Christmas everyone,
Here''s my .02.
1 - I totally agree 30 lbs all around with the Goodyear RFT offers perfect tire wear. Once heated their lbs range is 33-34.
2 - I switched to the Firestone RTF and I am using the above as my guide for the rear tires.
3 - I like to drive with more front response so I am still experimenting. The rears I am keeping at 30 for rear reasons alone.
4 - To induce a little lighter steering under throttle I have the fronts at 33 (cold)
Personally I find the Firestone rears slide predictably. If wear was not a factor (and I may fool with this later) I would like to hear some feedback about lowering the rear pressure to 28 lbs for a better hookup.
Thank you,
Kenny

Re: Optimum Tire Pressure - Cold ('98 Six Speed)
For comfort, 30#'s is cool.......for maximum life, maximum pressure..........
For racing, 26/28 rears, and max at front............IMHO

Re: Optimum Tire Pressure - Cold (ZO6LS6)
30 in the rear, 31 in front - always want to keep the rear at 1-2 psi less than the front to keep control of the squirelly rear end.........

Re: Optimum Tire Pressure - Cold ('98 Six Speed)
FWIW, running COLD rear pressure at 32 (checked and adjusted year round), I wore out the rear centers way early; I'm keeping the rear at 28-29 lately and they warm to 31-32.
