Fast Intake - Painted
Have ya sanded, primed, painted and cleared it? If so how about some pics? Was it worth the effort? How does it hold up under the hood?
Thanks as always!

It's an oily kind of plastic,so you have to use a paint that will stick. Mine was painted semi-gloss black at Mallett Cars before installation several years ago, and it still looks new. I don't know what was used.

Sorry but I have no idea. I would assume some sort of solvent cleaning to degrease the surface, maybe a soap and water bath, primer, and then finish coat.

I've also seen them done so they have a gloss finish (which I assume means a good bit more prep work).

My intake was painted PPG silver with clear cover coat. The paint has held up well for the past 6 months, and looks a lot better than the bland grey.

Mine was done by Vengeance racing. They did a great job and it was definately worth the money to me.

Thanks for the posts guys. My car is Pewter so I was thinking of a black paint job on the Fast intake with red rail covers. The silver looks awesome though.
