Rangers fan truck is nothing more than a jumper (6 inch wire) that allows both fans to run during hot lapping etc.
I'd like to do this, but do not want to be bothered with opening the fuse box each time, pulling the relay, pulling jumper, then putting it all back together. Has anyone dome this and put a jumper with a toggle on it so they could turn their fans on and off from inside the cockpit?

Not familiar with Ranger's trick. However, if it turns the fans on so they run all the time I have to believe that will actually increase temps Vs decrease. At speeds above 35 mph GM turns the fans off. That way they freewheel at the speed the air is going through the blades. If they are powered they will actually slow down air flow as they turn too slow at high speeds.

Thanks Bill,
I am AutoXrossing the car on occasion and I just wanted them to run when it was parked between runs to cool it off. I wouldn't use it out on the road. I get to 230 or so on the track and only 194 - 205 on the road.
Do you have a tuner around? The fans can be set to run for a while after the car is turned off if the temp is above a set temp. For example I'm pretty sure you can set it to run for say 120 seconds if the temp is above 220. The stock setting is way high, so the never come on.

The short jumper wire is cheap ,quick and works great! Sitting in line at the strip my temps would really climb(it would actually get cooler during a run shifting at 6K)Used the "Ranger" wire my temps stay at 194/196!!Only downside to a switch would be forgetting to tun it off and running the battery down!!
I wired a toggle switch and placed it next to the fuse block. When I pop the hood I turn it on, when I lower the hood I switch it off. This works well for me. No reason you could not run the switch inside the **** pit though. Use a switch with an internal light that way you will not accidentally leave it on.
Just curious, couldn't you just run the A/C while waiting for a run? That keeps all the fans on and temps down. Plus, it cools down the driver!

With the engine running, air on, fans on, engine still at operating temperature (226-degrees) but driver cool .
With fans on (jumper wire), engine off, engine cooling down
With cooler temperatures (180-190) car performs better.
