Default speedometer vs. audio system

I've noticed something strange with my C5. when I'm playing the audio system loudly, the speedometer jumps when its moving. I don't notice it while going at a constant speed, but while accelerating and decelerating the speedometer will not move smoothly, it holds in place, then jumps 1-2mph at a time. though simple observation I found this only happens when I have the audio system turned up pretty high. what gives? is the draw on the electrical system distorting the speedometer reading? the voltmeter doesn't indicate any changes in voltage and none of the other gauges have that problem.

Turn the bass down, causing vibrations and needle to bounce.

Is that really the case (bass vibrations?) Wouldn't the needle be jumping all over the place just from driving over bumps or rough patches of road?

Bad ground or something?

The radio takes the vehicle speed into account is there some noise/feedback in the wiring?

I doubt its vibrations. no problems over bumps and I only notice it when the needle is in motion, while driving at a constant speed its fine.

I have a complete aftermarket stereo in the car, so there are no factory components anymore. no SCV or anything.

if it is an electrical thing the big 3 upgrade may take care of it. Its on my list of mods to do.
