Default Cylinder head talk!

Do any of you guys, that are using ported LS6 heads, know what your intake and exhaust runner volumes are in cc's? Also what compression ratio do you have? I think that these motors can handle a lot more compression for the street then most have. Just interested to know where everyone is that is "tinkering" with head/cam combo's.

I am in the process of porting LS-6 heads.. I will be flow testing them when they are finished and can post the results. With my ported LS-1 heads the compression was 10 3/4 to 1..

Are you doing your own porting? Are they getting hand ported or by cnc machining?

Thats a decent compression. I think that running at 11.0-11.25 is not too unrealistic with proper tuning.

I'm running MMS Stage IIX heads. They are based on the truck heads, and give a 11.3 to11.4 compression ratio. With the 218 cam they work great on pump (91octane) gas. :yesnod:

What is the combustion chamber size on the truck head? They must be really small or are they are milled quite bit!!

9D9LS1: Both! Smaller chambers, and surfaces decked. I don't know the port volumes, but they seem to flow well. The HP peaks and holds flat from 6200 to 6500. :chevy
