I'm just about to put on a set , and a guy just told me they ride harder (ya the sidewall is stiffer) and they follow road ruts......huh........I've had cars follow the ruts from semi's but never thought it was caused by a specific tire..........in general what do you guys think about the goodyear run flats............the car right now dosen't have run flats on it.
I didn't like the runflats...they were very harsh compared to other tires..
lousy in wet weather as well ...Currently running Firestone Wide Ovals, and even though not an expensive tire, much better than the OE Goodyears IMO..
Michelin’s pilot sport run flats are much superior to the Good Year’s. The Michelins are quieter and softer riding and are all seasonal tires. I was able in 2006 to pick up a set at Costco for $ 1,229 out the door. If you are thinking run flats I think the Michelins are worth looking at.
anybody like them.........has anybody bought a secount pair....I'm new to the c5 world..........I have a c4 and now a c5 also........love the ride and quiteness compared to the c4 and I need to replace the tires, I also have a set of goodyear A/S runflats.

here on the forum we refer to them as Good Year run craps.. Hard ride, poor grip, and yes,, they follow road ruts.. There are much better tires out there for less money.. Do a search

I don't think Goodyear has any "goodyear A/S runflats" for the C5. Please correct me if I am wrong.
I am on my third set of OEM Tires. They are much wider than other tires, they handle better (really), they wear long, only runflats that can go 200 miles on a flat, and they get 10% or 3 mpg better mileage than non-runflats. I don't mind the noise or ride, it is a sports car.

Did not like the Goodyear Runflats (18"/19", wider C6Z06 tires), so went back to Michelin PS2s on my C5Z--C5Z06 sizes, with NO noticeable loss of handling, traction, or performance). GY Runflats are heavy, stiff, and dangerous in the colder weather.
Drove my C4 everyday and everyWHERE on Nitto RIIs and DRs, with no spare tire (and, early on, with no cell phone, either!).

Run flats are terrible.....if you are looking for a smooth ride and don't care about the ability to drive to the next town to fix your flat. I've purchased Kumhos, Michelins and God knows how many different tires, and they were all better than the Good Year run flats. I always have a cell phone and my AAA card with me to in the event a flat occurs. If you don't care about a smoother ride and better handling and want the peace of mind of a run flat, go with the Good Years.
The Goodyear runflats are terrible. If you want runflats the Firestone Firehawk 250's are excellent tires. I've had them and they were so superior to the Goodyears and much cheaper, too.
