Default Mti Houston Closing ?

I heard MTI of Houston was closing. Or are they just moving ? They did a great job on my tranny. One of the better tuners w/ Jason. You know how the grapevine can get w/ information.

But Ive always wanted to ask if the economy is hurting the performance market...I dont think any shop would be honest and disclose that though.

I would think emmissions laws would cause a lot of problems for shops that "tune" as well.

At least big name shops that advertise what they do.

Hmmm... I overheard that they had stopped doing any in-house machining because they could not make any money doing it but when I was last there they appeared to be fairly busy. The bays were full and cars lined up outside as well. If anything, they seemed to be a little under-staffed.

Jason tuned my car too so I hope they stick around because they are considered to be one of the premier shops in Houston.

David usually lurks around these threads, maybe he will chime in.

Then again, most tuners like to hang out in the C6 sections now. No love for the C5!

Give us a couple of days - we'll be making an official announcement about the changes going on here and a new business alliance that we're entering into.

Look for a new thread early next week.

Thanks,

David

Default David Congrats on doing something new, But please see my post

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=2074108

Put on your phone message that something is up or please answer your phone or answer your messages. I needed some parts for heads your company made, I really needed them overnighted yesterday. I will try again this morning. Is this a fruitless effort? you can respond here if you want or pm me please.

Default Dave got back to me

In all fairness when I got home from work this AM there was a email from Dave at MTI. Although unable to sell me the parts I needed, he did give me a phone number to find them. I think I have the right parts on the way now.
Thanks Dave and giood luck on the new venture.

Default closing

I heard from a good source that MTI is selling cars now and has figured that it is more profitable to fix them up and sell them than with thier traditional business. I use a shop out here on the Southwest side. Its called Icon Motorsports. Mike over there will set you up with anything you need.
