Still trying to resolve my battery drain issue on my 02. I have narrowed it down to the illumination for the DIC and HUD control buttons. They stay illuminated constantly. I have cleaned all the grounds under the hood and on both kick panels, no luck. Anyone ever run across this or have any suggestions?
Just got mine fixed. It was doing the same as yours. Found a burnt spot in the circuit board in the instrument cluster. This fixed to DIC and HUD lights but I removed fuses and tracked the rest of the battery drain to the glove box light. Cost $650 to get a rebuilt cluster at the Chevy dealer. Quite a job to replace. Hope this helps.
Not very easy to see. I wish I had taken pics but did not think of it at the time. I chased mine around for about 3 months before tearing into the dash. Listening to most people's advice I thought it was the BCM but I could not confirm this with any type of test. Something that I did not mention before was that during this time I replaced all four tire pressure sensors and the new ones would not program. I have service manuals that I will loan you if you are local to Winston Salem NC. Thanks, Brad
Thanks
I do have a set of factory service manuals. I talked to my Chevy parts guy and he said that I needed the part number from the back of the IPC and the last 8 of the VIN to order a reman unit. Will probably tear in to it soon. You were able to see the bad spot in the circuit?
