Does anyone have any experience with the following problem.
Switched car on and the auto lamps raised the R/H headlamp but the L/H one stayed down.Tried switching on the lights via the stalk and still the same.Switched car off raised the hood and used the manual opener to open and close the L/H light.Tried the lights again and now all appears normal except now after the light is closed there is a ratcheting noise coming from what I think is the headlight motor for a few seconds after the light is stowed.Do you think I need a new headlight motor? Thanks for any help.
I've just ordered a motor rebuilt kit for the headlights. Do you think this will correct the intermittent problem of one headlight not wanting to come up with the other without cycling the headlights?
I've had this problem for months before the gear finally stripped. I'm wondering if its a bad connection, or just a warning sign of the nylon gear starting to bind up in the worm drive.
