Do the Z06's have a reverse lockout of some sort? My 01 keeps jumping out of gear about half the time. The guy I bought it from said they had a reverse lockout but couldn't really tell me how it works. Whats the deal with it?

Reverse Lockout problems would have nothing to do with jumping out of gear.
A reverse lockout is installed on the M6 Corvette trannys (MM6 and M12) and it "locks out" reverse when the car is moving forward at more than 3 MPH. It is to keep you from accidentally trying to put the car in reverse gear.
If your car is jumping out of gear, either your shifter is misadjusted (possibly) or you have an internal gearbox problem. Is it jumping out of all gears, or only certain ones ??
The reverse lockout can keep you from getting the car into reverse but it will not cause the tranny to pop out of reverse.
If it is popping out of reverse it may be because you don't have it completely in reverse. Reverse doesn't have synchronized gears and you can get a little gear clash when trying to shift into reverse. Both of my C5s did this a 97 and an 03Z. The solution to the problem on both of them especially when parking was to come to a stop, shove the shift lever into reverse and then while pushing forward on the shift lever and holding the brake release the clutch a little so the gears turn just a bit. Usually, the shifter will move forward just a little and you can feel the gears fully mesh. Then you can shut off the car and leave it parked in reverse.
If you are trying to back up and having the transmission pop out of gear with all the grinding sounds that accompany that incident just remember to shove forward on the shifter as you release the clutch until the gears mesh and then you can take your hand off the shifter.
I have been doing this for 11 years so it has become second nature to me.
Okay that's what I thought I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing the boat. If I hold pressure on it it seems to stay in and yeah it only jumps out of reverse. When I shove it up there pretty hard it stays in so maybe a shifter swap will help.
