Well I drove out to Vette Doctors with one of my friends to pick up my car this past Friday 7/11 . I arrived early with coffee and was all pumped up to get my car back.
Carmin and Dennis were there along with a few other workers. The shop is always clean and well lit and very organized.
When I drove up I could see that my car was washed and clean. Even the wheels were treated. Carmin came out to greet me and opened up the hood. Inside was a brand new LS6! I could also see the headers and when he started it it sounded great. ( I have the Z06 exhaust ) I had them install a mild cam also.
The install included a new starter, clutch assembly, valve springs, cam ,headers, radiator support, oil and all fluids and 10 dyno runs to get it tuned ( plus more but I dont have the receipt in front of me )
The chart that he have me showed 427 RWHP. I will have it scanned and post it as soon as I can.
There was not a scratch on the car and when I got in it to drive it home it had a full tank of gas! These guys are the best.
The car drives great! Definitely a big difference from the stock LS1. This is from a guy who thought the stock car was fast enough. I know am beginning to understand why guys pump so much into their motors.
As far as the mild cam goes, the car barely lopes at a stop ( I like it ) and pulls like a freight train.
I am very happy with Vette Doctors and would recommend them to anyone who cares about their Corvette.
On another note I did decide to file a claim and my insurance company paid for a stock LS1 install. It helped to offset the costs of what I wanted installed. My nephew paid me 5,000 and i have decided to hold onto it until the day he gets married and shows me that he has matured. Then I might give it back to him and hope that he learned a lesson.
So to sum up, Vette Doctors did an awesome job and they will be seeing me again for a few 'ahem' minor upgrades.
I think I caught the fever!!!!
