Went to drive my Z06 tonight (2001) and driver's window will not go down. Appears to be getting power as click is heard when switch button is pushed for up or down. Tried holding button while I shut door firmly and still no luck. Most likely cause? Bad motor? Stuck motor? Bad door module? Window appears to be in proper fully closed position. No codes in computer and would not necessarily expect any. Am I doomed to taking the door apart?
Pop that little access panel off which is behind the handle used to close the door. You will find 3 bolt heads exposed. Place a screwdriver on the head of the bolt which is closest to the rear of the car. With someone holding the window button down, tunk the head of the screwdriver with a hammer.
This little “fix” was posted by another member and it worked for me when the slamming the door option did not.
Once they mess up, I think you are in for a window regulator replacement. If you can hear the relay click, most likely, the motor is stuck. It is difficult to just replace the motor and get the drive system to work.
Just in case its a bad relay contact, I've heard that its possible to swap the LDCM and RDCM with each other therefore you can verify the module, but don't take my word for it, check the part numbers to be sure first.
I had this exact same thing happen relay click and everything. I had to replace the window motor and regulator to get it fixed right. If you get just the motor it will not be easy at all.
Thanks Guys. Have been out of town. 87SAM -sounds like your suggestion is worth a try. Will do when I can find the time.
Cheers!

Just activate the window switch and give the door handle a good hard blast with your left fist. You may have to do a couple raps in sucession which should break it free. Don't know how long that'll keep working for you but it does work.
My Z06 does it to i talked to some of my friends and he thinks its a loose ground or a pinched wire. My window wouldnt roll up and i used to hit the bottom of the door and it would roll up but eventually it didnt work so when u open the door if you grab the rubber in the middle of the door it closed so we definetly think its a loose ground or a pinched wire.
There's a wire in the accordian tube between the door and main frame that will electrically short to the frame and cause lots of problems. Bill Curlee first found this and posted lots of pictures.
