Bout to put 4 new Koni Shocks on the ole 02 Z .... Shop wants 150 to do it...
Question ... Is it very hard to put the shocks on ? Some threads make me think its a PITA others seem its quite easy. Is it worth the 150 or is it something I could tackle alone in a couple days?
If you have the tools, a jack and jack stands, what the hell. GO FOR IT! Its a piece of cake. The most difficult part is compressing them into place. I compressed them by hand out side the car and used a piece of thin solid steel wire to keep the compressed. Slide them in, cut the wire and install the bolts! All four took about an hour start to finish! The best part, "C5 BONDING" and your wallet is still FAT!

your right 150 is enough to cover my fuel drink and lunch bill for two days running at vir.... Maybe i will just try it out... I found this link below seems to outline the tools needed
I tried to torque my lower shock bolt to 162 ft lbs. but it snapped. I've read several posts that you should just go to 150. Either torque them to 150 or go to the dealer and get a couple extra bolts just in case. My local dealer usually has most anything in stock but they didn't have these bolts. Bummer for a car to sit there for a day waiting for a bolt.

I used the above link to do my shocks. Took about half a day, taking my time, if I recall correctly. Still, if you don't have the tools, confidence and inclination, $150 seems like a reasonably fair price.
I love working on the Vette but shocks are a pain but not difficult. Just time consuming......I generally pick and choose my battles, $150 would be worth it to have a tech do it for me. JMO
