Have on my 03 ZO6 about 77,000 miles along with mods(cam, headers, heads, intake.) Lately, I have been getting 0153 codes for a slow responce o2 sensor. I was told that they need to be changed every so often, anyone been doing this?
It seems to idle good for awhile, then the idle quality falls off and then the check engine light comes on, then this 0153 code.
Could it be the o2 sensors need to be changed?
There is a 02 fuse under the hood. Make sure that isnt blown. It controls the heater circuit for the 02s. If the heaters dont work, the o2s will be slow/lazy and set a code.
If that doesnt work, replace them. ONLY USE AC DELCO O2 SENSORS!
Just checked the fuse. Its ok. The code 0153 clears itself so that must mean the right o2 sensor is getting intermittent.
Thanks for the heads up on which sensors to get. I was going to go to NAPA for them, now will get AC delco's.
I have ARH's and now am wondering how hard these will be to put on...........hmmmm.
I got these codes after long tube headers were installed with only 12k miles. Bought new sensors ( orginal GM) and have had no problems since. Good Luck.

Thanks again...........
You'll probably need a "crowfoot wrench set". Specifically a 7/8" crowfoot will do the job. Sears sells the set if you don't have them
