ABS & Active Handling light question

After jump starting my 2002 auto because of a dead battery l took it out for a spin for about 15 minutes because l had limited time and noticed that the clock reset itself and while driving both the ABS & active handling lights came on. I am aware that one of them will set the other off and the manual said that l should try and restart the car several times to eliminate the warnings.
When l put it back in my garage and shut it off and tried to restart it, it was dead and the clock reset itself.
I only have 15,000 miles on the clock and l still have the GMPP extended warranty that l never used.
I also decided to replace the battery with the orig Delco because it worked for 6 years.
Thanks
Alan
ps l would hate to bring it into the dealership not knowing what is happening.

When the AUTOMATIC display completes it will enter MANUAL mode. In that mode display and write down what codes you have.
A code looks like this ...... P 1234 C
The first letter will be either a P, B, C, or U ..... indicating which system the code is for.
The following 4 numbers are the code
The last letter will be a C or an H (sometimes both).
Post the ENTIRE code (as in the example ..... P1234C), and list ALL the codes found.
=====================
NOTE: Until you put a decent bettery in the car, I wouldn't worry about DTCs .... computers don't like low voltage situations and will diagnose all kinds of "faults" that are simply caused by the voltage.

I called my dealer and they said because of Iraq the Delco's go for between $125 and $175 depending on the warranty.
My local shop will charge me $116 and l would rather give him the business.
He ( local) said that after he puts in the battery the ABS & Active handling warnings will be gone.
I asked him if he could erase the history but he said it does it itself.
Does this sound right?
Thanks
Alan

I agree (as I pointed out in my previous post in the NOTE) that it is quite likely (more than 95 percent) that the low voltage is generating the ABS and AH warnings.
Technically your guy is correct ... if the problem is solved by the new battery there is no need to "erase" the codes .... they will stay in the computer in "History" status but the DIC messages (SERVICE ABS ... etc) will stop and the warning light will go out.
However, I recommend actually erasing them if the problem is solved. The codes will erase after something like 50 engine starts with no further problem. But, if, before you get to 50 starts, there is a problem ... you won't be certain which codes relate to the "new" problem versus which ones are left over from the "fixed" problem.
You can erase the codes yourself. Follow the link I gave you above ... when a code is displayed that you want to erase hold the RESET button down until the DIC tells you the code has been deleted.
