If all else fails, take a 1/2" drive socket that is a hair smaller than the lock and use a hammer to pound it onto the lug nut. Once it is on, use a ratchet or breaker bar to remove the lock. This works really well for removing Magard locking lugs if you don't have the key. :yesnod:
I went to the dealer and the service writer handed me a box of different sockets and said for me to find one that works and that way he wouldn't have to write it up and charge for a mechanic. About the only pleasant experience I have ever had with a service writer.
Can someonr tell me exactly where the key should be. I looked in the left side compartment, but I don't see any place where the key might be stored. Thanks
I think this info is in the owners manuel, but remove the small (12"x18" aprox.) cover on the left side. The lip on the left of the opening is a couple of inches wide. Toward the rear of this 2" strip is a little cubby about 1"X2", just big enough for the wheel lock key.
Snap-on makes a wheel lock defeater socket. I bought and used one to get mine off a few weeks ago. Worked great. Ordered a new set of regular lug nuts from gmpartsdirect.com, and now I don't need the stupid wheel lock key! :D
