Has anyone had any issues with the plastic window molding above the doors on the outside of the frc coming out a bit from the body? Is there a glue or epoxy that I can use to hold it back snug to the car?
Coming out a bit? Are they cracked? If so, this is a common problem and there's not much that you can do other than replace them and be careful not to overtighten the screws - that's why they're cracked in the first place.
If they're not cracked, you can pull the upper window weatherstriping away from the trim and see if there's any adjustment to be had by loosening the screws and pushing the plastic trim into the position where you want it.
That's not the problem I was thinking of. I've never seen that happen before. If it were my car, I'd remove the weather stripping and trim and put it back together one piece at a time.
There are supposed to be screws holding the plastic trim to the metal piece underneath and more screws holding the metal piece to the roof. It's almost like your screws are missing... Are you getting water in the car?
No the car is dry. I was thinking about taking them all the way off but I wasn't sure how they came off. the drivers side also has this happening just not as bad. I will take it off all the way and see what that does. I didn't notice this happening before a few days ago. I thought that it could have been the heat possibly.
Well, let us know what you find. Did you by any chance have your windshield replaced? Those trim pieces need to come off to replace the windshield on a hardtop car like yours. Maybe they forgot to reinstall the screws?
I haven't owned the car to long so it is possible that the windshield was replaced before I bought it. I am going to take a look at it tomorrow I haven't had a chance to look at it because of work I will let you know how it works. Thanks for the help.
