So Ive got my new motor in and almost broken in good.
The only thing related to overheating vs. last motor is the 25% UD pulley. Will this cause it to run hotter than usual?
The temp gauge on the AC controls has shown 99+ the last couple days so Im sure that doesnt help but that is typical summer heat here in the nothwest part of Louisiana.
Also, after my H/C install, (with Powerbond %25 UDP) my car ran a little cooler than stock, so I doubt it's the pulley. Later I added an EWP, and it's about the same as before, but during 100+ days, in slow traffic, stays stable at 195 deg.

Should I invest in a good radiator? Thanks guys
Are you overheating, or is it just running hotter? What temps?
What are your fan temps? Did you blow out the radiator while it was out, we did an 04 last summer and the radiator was amazingly dirty/plugged. I bought a DeWitts I plan to install when I do the motor. Kind of sad seeing it in a box in the middle of summer.
I'd invest in a 160 degree thermostat if you haven't already.
Most people get an UD pulley when they do a cam, and at the same time get a tune, which causes the fans to come on earlier.
A tuner, or a handheld can adjust the hi-speed/low-speed on/off temps of the fans.
I think stock is 220ish low speed 235 high speed
My car (stock tune cam pulley) used to routinely reach 235 on hot days
It never gets above 210 now(aftermarket tune, cam and UD pulley)
Ive already got a 160* stat and a tune. Fans are set to some on sooner but not exactly sure what temp

I usually blow it out everytime I have it on the lift but I didnt do it when I put the motor in bc I didnt take the radiator out.
I filled it the old fashion way.....at the shop I have the snap on vacuume tool that uses shop air to suck it all down but I didnt use it. Its about due for an oil service so I guess I can try blowing the radiator off then go from there.
I was basically just seeing if others in similar weather have had problems with an UD pulley

No problems with mine either and I'm still using the stock radiator.
I do have a 160 and re-programmed fans set at 188-182/194-188.
Of course I am running warmer temps in this summer Texas weather, but nowhere near what you are.

The last 3 days have been the hottest days of the summer and I sure can feel it......That may be the case with the car to because today it ran fine
