Check engine light/P0410 AIR System
After a few minutes the check engine light came on and I got a code PO410 which turns out to be the code for the AIR System.
I reset it and the next day it happened again. So what is happening? BTW what is the AIR system. I think it is compressor the feeds air into the exhaust manifold. I don't have emission testing in my state so I don;t need the system( I think). I am planing on adding headers soon and hear that I may have to make some changes to the piping to connect everything. But since I don't need the system can I just disconnect the tubes form the headers and tie them out of the way?
There is a vacuum line that comes off the back of the intake manifold, kind of wedged under the dashboard.
It travels down under the battery where it is also attached to an AC line that controls the actuators to your various vent levels (floor, panel, or windshield vent levels). It then runs from under you battery to the driver's side headlight where the AIR pump is located.
The AIR pump is initiated by that vacuum line, so if the vacuum line is not functioning then the AIR pump won't come on and you get the 0410 code.
My guess is you messed with the AC line and by accident disconnected or loosened the vacuum line.
Good luck!
Last week I had a shop check out my ac which had stop working.
They charged the system with 2 lbs of refrigerant, and performed a leak check.
I guess somewhere along the way the disturbed a vacuum line.
I will check out the routing today.
Thanks for the info.
