Every so often I get the service engine soon displays in my DIC. when I first got the c5 vert this happend quit often along with the fuel gauge going to empty problem. well I researched and stsrted using Chevron gas only(HIGHEST grade) and every other tank or so i would put in a bottle of techtron gas treatment,,,, both problems went away.... well i recently changed my accordian air intake to a smooth coupler intake,,, and now the service engine soon message has started to reapear again every so often,,,, any ideas......
Possibly a leak somewhere in your intake system. I had the same issue with my car when I installed a rigid after market coupler.
I found there was a pucker on the bottom side of the coupler where it is supposed to slip over the OD of the throttle body. The clamp went over it and tightened down, but the pucker obviously didn't seal. I found it with a small mirror.
I used a little lubricant (WINDEX) along the ID of the coupler and re-installed it, twisting it to insure there was no pucker. I confirmed it with the mirror.
But, it could be non related to the intake. Check the codes (H and C) on the DIC and figure out what they refer to. It could be as simple as not tightening your fuel cap, or not resetting you oil life monitor to 0% after an oil change.
