Alternator
Help. My volt meter (dic) is reading 13.1 (sometimes 13.8) and sometimes drops to 12.9. This is happening with headlights / PIAA's, blower fan, radio and while driving. My first thought is that the alternator going bad. I am going to have the alternator tested tomorrow. How much will a new alternator cost? What are your thoughts? Thanks

Replacement alternators that work properly are hard to find, because of a data link. Best bet is to get your's rewound locally, check Yellow Pages for Alternator Rebuild.

As far as how much an alternator costs, I would say pick up the phone and do some shopping, or inquire with supporting vendors on this site.
