Hi guys, its my first post on the forum but I've been lurking around looking at the cars, which all amazing.
I am currently trying to replace my console and bezel. I've gotten everything off except the cigarette lighter on the bezel and the auxillary power inside the console. I don't want to break the pieces. Does any one have any info on how to remove these pieces.
Unplug the wiring from the back of the lighter. Stick a finger inside to hold the shell in place and unscrew the back half with the other hand.
The lighter socket is two pieces... a front half and back half. The lighter istelf inserts from the front of the console... and the "back half" is nothing more than a housing that screws onto and around the front half, once inserted. Easy!
Just curious, why are you replacing your radio bezel?
I had mine replaced because of a factory defect that someone covered up and it became noticeable after the bumper to bumper warranty expired. I guess that's what happens when they shine up a new car...your eyes aren't focused on the little details....the part that was altered was where my right knee rested against the bezel piece.
