Default l92 set up

With the 08 ls3 being a good motor to mod and making close to 500 rwhp with few mods, how many c5 owners are thinking about switching to the l92 set-up with the 6.2 block or bigger cubes, i am about to build me a new set-up and think i am going with 402 or bigger with those killer l92 heads ported and polished just would like to hear input

I have a 418ci motor with forged internals that just dynoed 500rwhp last week. Ported L92 heads, ported L76 intake and ported LS2 tb. If I had it to do over I would have done a little more research. Not particularly pleased with the results was hoping for something a little closer to 540rwhp. I think there is still a lot of work to be done in figuring out the right cam for these heads, I probably should have gone a little more aggressive with a 112lsa.

yes i think you should try one of lg's cams they are making crazy power on the stock ls3 heads with cam only i think they made over 540 with their combo

The problem with going with the L92 heads is the lack of good available intake manifolds for them. The motors stop making power around 6300 rpm.

As you mentioned above, the heads seem very sensitive to cam selection so very important to pick the right cam.

Can't you build a LS3 block'd stroker, and use popular aftermarket heads, like TFS, AFR, and ETP? Then use a FAST92 setup, or the new Weiand. If my LS6 ever craps out, that was what I was planning on doing.
