Default TPIS 11x cams Good, bad ugly?

Is anyone running a TPIS 11x cam. If so or if not, are they any good? I have not heard a lot about them but someone told me so I am asking the experts.........

I know mx3 are good, Englandgreen's cams are good but I don't know a lot about specs. I have a 99 A-4 & looking at different routes to add some HP. I was told about tpis is a good bang for the buck tht is why I am asking here.......Thanks.

I was using that cam and love it.That was the biggest cam I could run at that time with out getting into machine work. With the 383 am running the 13X great cam without losing to much driveability.

Installed an FTI cam in a friend's car last summer, made just under 400 hp and is a small cam compared to some of the donkey dick cams that people are installing. Cam is a 220/224 on a 112. I am going with the AFR 224/228 cam on a 114 this fall.

Really not sure I can think of a cam I could describe as "bad". There are bad cams for the wrong application for sure though. You want to match the cam for the combonation you are building. There are many factors in choosing the "right " cam for a particular package. Too many people hear that a certain cam is the "best" because they read it on the internet What works well for one combo might not work for a different combo. I strongly suggest picking a well known local shop to help you choose whats best for you.

Just by reading your post, I can tell that you haven't done much cam research, if any. You can't just blindly run out there and order a cam based on some funny name someone gives it. They are all Comp Cams.

Before ordering, you must know all the specs of the cam and be able to relate those specs to what suits your specific car to meet your specific needs. LS1tech has a bunch of stickies dedicated to cams and will teach you everything you need to know.

Vettenuts,

Is this still the best choice when pairing up with the AFR 205 heads and possibly ported FAST intake? I was thinking of going with a 228/232 on a 112, mistake in your opinion?

Thanks.
