I just bought an '01 Z06 last week that I believe has C6 Z06 Repro wheels on it, but they are shod with 245 and 275 tires for some reason. The right front fender lip toward the back is scuffed a little. Is this due to the tire rubbing the fender? The car is not lowered, and I know people lower them and run wider tires than this and don't have a problem so it seems a little odd.
Is it possible that these rims are not repros and are actual C6 wheels that have the wrong offset or something? They don't really stick out at all so it doesn't seem likely.
I don't see any sign of this damage on the other three fenders. Also, you have to get down on the ground and look inside to see this scuffing, it didn't damage the fender even all the way out to the edge. Maybe it got hit by some debris?
Pictures are worth a thousand words in this case. Load up 3 or 4 of the trouble spot so we can see the issue.
If thery're repros there shouldn't be an issue. If they're real C6Z rims you have two issues. One is I don't think a 275 is very safe for that rim and two they will hit the fender.
well one, why did the org owner goto smaller tires (265.295 are stock for z06), and if you pull a rim off they usally have what they are (sizes)on the back of the rim
Not really sure why they did that since I got the car from a dealer, not from the previous owner. Measuring the wheels with a tape measure they appear to be 9.5 in the front and 10.5 in the rear, but the tires don't realy look that stretched out so maybe they are 8.5 and 9.5. I have to buy a jack so I can get the wheels off to look at things!
Don't have any pictures right now, I will try and get some later tonight.
Another thought - the real C6 wheels must be way too wide for 275 and 245 tires right? So they have to be repros?

They are not C6 OEM wheels because the C6 uses an 18" front and 19" rear. Your wheels are 18s in the rear. That is a weird deal, are they rubbing because of a suspension issue???????
Not sure. I just had it lined up and it was out of alignment - and I'm not even sure the rub happened before or after I got it. I have never noticed anything. Would you notice it rubbing like that while you are driving or not?
