Default "Active Handling Warming Up"??

It was 18F this morning and this is what I saw on my DIC. I warmed the car up for about 15 minutes but no change, so i took off, took another 15-20 minutes for the yellow dash symbol thingy to go off. It seems all's well now.
Is this a tranny fluid warm up thing??

I don't know about the cold, but it may take a while for the sensors to start working in the extreme cold. The only time I get this message is if right after I start driving I make sharp turns, such as in a parking garage with a circular drive. But, the message only lasts for a few seconds. I don't think it has anything to do with the transmission fluid, only with the ABS and wheel position sensors.

My '99 Coupe displayed this message maybe once or twice in all of two years of ownership, but my 2002 seems to do it all the time. It might have something to do with a change in the second generation Active Handling compared to the first generation Active Handling.

Anyone else know why my 2002 would do it much more than my '99?

I'd recommend hooking up your A-tap and getting a reading from the IAT sensor. It could also have something to do with the recalibrated MAT that you have installed. I'm not 100% familiar with that product but if any of your engine managment temp. sensors read real low it will trigger this warning.

I have had this problem many times and it was always the IAT sensor being unconnected due to broken wires or loose connector. This might be what's going on to your car if it persists, hopefully not. To find out I hooked up my A-tap and the IAT read -30 deg....the same as if it was not connected at all. I got the warning constantly as a result.

Good Luck

My car did the same thing yesterday. It was like 30F though. I'd never seen that msg before. After about 5 minutes it went away and all was well. :)

Very good point, thanks, I recently taped the wires since they were a bit flimsy.
DOH! Autotap, I wondered why I bought the thing.
