When removing heads only, does the power steering pump have to be removed? I've been reading the how-to's and most do a cam swap at the same time. Since I'm not doing a cam, does the pump have to come off? There is a metal bracket that is attached to the Lt head that the pump reservoir is attached to with the pump underneath. What to do?
I also relocated the oil sensor, but should I use thread sealer on the oil sensor adapter for the block? It has a crush washer already.
You don't need to mess with the PS lines, pulley, or worry about removing the pump from the bracket...just remove the bracket from the head, and push it out of the way.
4 screws that hold it on, they are easy to get at if water pump is off. A 15mm ratcheting box end wrench is your friend for removing these.
