Default What year ??

Helps if your profile showed what year your car is .... many parts vary by model year.

I assume you're trying to fix something like a C1296 ....

The Service Manual describes how to replace the sensor ... it is mounted in the BPMV ....

But the parts manual I have indicates that there is no individual part number for the sensor .... you have to buy a whole new BPMV .....

All I can sugggest is calling a parts dealer and see if they can get a part number for the part ..... .....

Only GM could put in a service procedure for a part you can't buy ....

Try contacting these two vendors and see if either one can locate the part number ...

http://www.gmpartshouse.com

http://www.gmpartsdirect.com

Also contact this guy, he may be able to repair it for you for less than the $900.00 dealer quote ....

http://www.absfixer.com

But, to be fair to your dealer ... the GM parts manual does not list a part number for the sensor ... possibly a GM authorized parts seller can locate the number using a computerized search, rather than the older "paper" parts books.

Good luck,

Old post I know, but exact problem I have. I can go a whole day without throwing this code, or hit a small bump and it kicks off the active handling. Was this sensor ever found as a seperate part, or is it the whole thing. I sure would hate to throw 900 at a part just to find it wasn't the problem.

Im still wanting to find just the sensor part number. Ive read where members have purchased sensors but no GM dealer wants to sell them alone. Its just stupid to have a sensor that can clearly be removed and changed in an hour and not sell it individually.

If you can help in any way Gene, I sure would appreciate it
