I am looking to add a X-pipe to my NXT exhaust system.
I have seen Borla,Corsa, bassini Ect..... go for over $300.00.
My question is has anyone tried a less expensive one like they sell on the auction site?
They look the same and all look like they are 2.5" and stainless steel.
Let me know if you have used a XS Power or ARK-X X-pipe or similar pipe.
Also what happens if you gut out your cats? I Live in MI so no worries about passing anything emission wise. Will the computer throw codes?
Thanks a bunch

Chill fireman. He was the only reply you had all day. I really think he was trying to be helpful.
But I also agree the General seems to have good responses.
I hope someone will have better idea on your question but I would be concerned if the x pipe would be of equal quality and fit as well as your current exhaust. I would think it might be mild steel instead of stainless? But maybe im wrong.
Basically man to get you a reply, the only difference between tubing is the material it's made out of and whether or not it's mandrel bent...if you really want it perfect then look for a stainless mandrel bent X-pipe...that should be the best.
Another common difference is the way they attach to your existing system, I'm sure some kits come with collectors, bolts, gaskets and hardware and some just weld-in.
It just depends on your setup and whether or not you want mandrel bent pipe or whether you need it "un-boltable".
Good luck!

So if I buy a X-pipe that is stainless now,if I decide to go with longtube headers in the future. Will the X-pipe work will any longtube header I decide to go with?
Or do you have to stick with the same brand as the X-pipe and headers?
I just don't want to buy a X-pipe that won't work with my longtubes in the future.
Let me know if anyone has had a problem with compatibility.
Thanks a bunch

Fireman it all depends on if you are doing the install yourself, between the two or more systems, or if you have a good muffler shop, doing the install, usually a good shop can make any thing fit, i had a shop around my way, make my x pipe for 100.00 dollars, and saw a postive H.P. gain very competitive with the expensive x pipes on the market, remember those x pipes are being made by a muffler shop some place, my shop does not have a mandrel machine, but they are very good at bending with little to no restriction in their bends, if you saw some of there work, you would think it was mandrel bent.
Good Luck.

Sounds cool Were they able to do yours in stainless?
Any muffler shop with a tubing or bender will be able to get you going with what ever type you decide to go with...
If you've seen an X-pipe up close, you'll see that you could really cut one down right to the X if you had to or however you need to in order to make it work...but like I was saying before, if you're planning on eventually adding long tubes to the setup, plan on either having the X-pipe cut back out and cut down. Then they'll put the same X-pipe back in but at a different length probably, when you put headers on the car, it obviously makes the system longer so you have to move the X-pipe and everything under there accordingly.
The only difference between a mandrel bend and a normal one is the mandrel bend doesn't "lose" any of the diameter of the tubing even at the sharpest bend where as when you bend a length of exhaust tubing normally, you'll lose some volume but I highly doubt enough to make a difference on a car with just basically LT's, full exhaust and an air intake.
