Default C5 Brake Problems/Questions

OK guys I am having problems with the brakes on my 03 23k miles. I was getting a squeek right before I came to a dead stop. So I changed the pads, and left the stock rotors alone. They looked, and felt OK. I used Stop-Pro Ceramic pads from Pep-Boys. Was going to get AC Delco but they don't carry anymore. Squeek went away for a couple of days but now it is back!! I guess the rotors are glazed over?? So now I was going to have the rotors turned, but can't break the bolts loose for the caliper bracket. Any suggestions?? PLEASE HELP....

Thanks in Advance

You just need a longer extension, or maybe an impact driver.
They are put together with loctite.
Sometimes heating helps, but try more muscle first.

Put a power bar onto the socket and then on the bolt in the right location that you can jack under it. Get some of the car weight onto the wrench and it will break them free.

Of course, an impact works much better but you gotta work with what you've got.

i'd stray away with getting the rotors turned that soon...if the rotors are smooth, and rotate completely even - leave them be. a thinner rotor dissipates less heat...you don't want that.

did you lubricate the pads/piston/contact parts after replacing the pads? (shims included?)

I was thinking about this a bit more. Try 3 or 4 60mph to 10mph hard stops in a row and see what you get.
