When you turn the **** it does not change the display or the set temperature. It causes the HVAC to slightly alter the temperature delivered to the passenger side versus the driver side. The Corvette cabin is too small to allow for any significant difference in temperature .... it's not like your passenger will be slathering on sunscreen while in their swimsuit while you watch snow flakes fall on your parka.
Look in the last pages of Section 1 .... HVAC Sytems - Automatic ..... Description and Operation .... there is a section called "Dual Zone Control switch" which will explain the function.
