Check Engine Light - Code P0440

Default Check Engine Light - Code P0440
Check Engine Light came on this morning. I checked codes and the only one is P0440. I researched this a bit and the most logical simple fix is to tighten the gas cap. I did this and cleared the code. If this works, how long until the Check Engine light will reset?

What esle should I consider? Thanks!

It should turn off after three ignition cycles if there are no other problems.

You can turn it off via the DIC.

Huh? I can turn off the "Check Engine" light via the DIC? I thought I can only use this to erase trouble codes.

Let us know if it does not go off after cycling through the ignition cycles, there are several things it can be.
