I have had a nagging low pressure problem in one of my wheels for about 4 weeks. Took the car back to have the tire checked, no leaks, no nails, etc. They even removed / remounted the tire, but the right front keeps losing pressure.
Could the sensor leak (fail) while still registering a reading on the gages?
Just wondering before I make a journey to the dealer.
Thanks.
I'm not sure, but I would hope if this is standard practice that they did it. I was not looking over the guy's shoulder. They did my original tire work 7 months ago and no problems until now.
Re: Can a tire pressure sensor fail??? (Blue Thunder)
The tire shop must have a leak finding fluid in a spray can. They spray it on and wherever a leak is there will be a kind of foam in seconds.
Mine was leaking as said above at the O-Ring. Replaced it and it was fine.
