yeah i searched. the search function sucks now. It used to work well for me. From what I did see from the mousing over the results, my issue is a little different from others.
Anyway, since my modifications(h/c, clutch, procharger and headers) I have been having low voltage readings. It typically shows around 12.5 or so. Occasionally it will creep up to about 13. Intermittently it will drop to about 11.8 for a split second. When it does this I can see the headlights dim, then the voltage sill come back up to 12.5. I am suspicious of the battery for the low voltage, but not sure why the voltage would suddenly drop the way it does if that were the issue. I am about 95% sure I got the grounds all connected. I have not leaned the connections yet.
*EDIT* A few more details. I just checked voltage at the battery while it was running and it was 13.5 while the DIC was reading 12.5. I then checked voltage at the alternator and it was 14.1
*EDIT* With the car NOT running, the DIC reads 11.4, but at the battery, my battery tester reads ~12.5
when you are running, the voltage you are reading is influenced by the alternator. check the battery voltage across the terminals with a voltmeter and the car off. it should be over 12 volts. intermittent operation could be as simple as a poor connection at the post or as extensive as the alternator. autozone can check the battery easy enough, i don't know how good their alternator check is. i would clean and tighten the terminals first, then check the voltage. how old is the battery?
I'll check and clean the terminals in the next couple of days. I also don't have a volt meter with me. I'll have to check it out when i get home as well.
I finally got a few minutes to check things out. I just checked voltage at the battery while it was running and it was 13.5 while the DIC was reading 12.5. I then checked voltage at the alternator and it was 14.1

For whatever reason, I read that first post when I first had the issue and didn't think it applpied to my issue. But now that I read it again, I see that it is very much the same issue.
I have used the google method of searching. I didn't think to use it for this issue though.
did you check at the posts of the battery or on the car side of the battery connections? ie, touch the clamps for a reading. have you had the battery checked? it could just be a surface charge.

I checked the battery at the side post on the battery itself. I also have a battery tester that tested as being good. I have not cleaned the connections yet. I don;t think it is an issue, but I wil try to get to it as soon as I can. Hopefully this week sometime
