Maintenance schedule for rear diff
I don't see the rear differential listed in the scheduled maintenance section of my owners manual or the shop manual. At what mileage intervals should the lube be changed?

It's covered in the "Periodic Maintenance Inspection", but no time change is specified...just like the manual transmission.

If you're asking ,,it probably won't hurt to do it for peace of mind!! On the C5 it's easy since it is equipped with a drain plug(which the older models did not have) Mine had 55K when I bought it so I flushed the Clutch master,, and drained the tranny(M6) and rear.Shifting was getting a little sluggish.The lube that came out was NASTY!! I used Royal Purple products (Syncro Max and Max Gear) Quite satisfied with the results! Max gear has the "posi" additive in it. Standard GM products would probably been fine,,but I figured since you don't do it that often that a few extra bucks for R P won't hurt and they have a good reputation that seems to have proven itself for me!!
