Default EBCM removal question (its already out)

Yippeee. I got the EBCM out of my car and I'm getting it ready to be shipped to Absfixer.com. I've read that you can drive around with the EBCM removed. My question is, do I need to cover up the thing that the EBCM plugs into? What if water gets in there? Also, what about the loose wire plugs/connectors? Can they get tangled up in the fan or belt?

We are supposed to get a lot of rain next week from the hurricane and was wondering what I should do. Thanks in advance.

Sorry, I can't answer your question. But do yourself a favor and buy new bolts. I broke one of mine while reinstalling mine, while torquing it to spec. What a bIt(h it is to replace it twice....

If you wrap it with plastic, the air that is inside may condense onto the terminals, and if you leave it open while driving in a downpour, who knows what will happen. People have done it without issues, but I wasn't about to take any chances, so I drove my other car during the week-long wait.

Yeah, I plan on investing an extra $5 for the extra screws. I just know I'm gonna lose one. It seems like its gonna be a beotch trying to put those screws back into the holes on that thing.

Yes, you want to cover the exposed portion of the BPMV. When you go to re-assemble the parts, if you think there is moisture in there, use a hair dryer to warm the BPMV to expel as much moisture as possible.

Yes, you want to keep the loose wires from getting caught in moving parts such as the serpentine belt.
