The local stealership is telling me that the reason my wipers don't park correctly is that the cam in the wiper motor has gone bad. Is this true or are they covering their butts because they replaced the module last year and that repair is under warranty?

First, you have a very unusual dealership if they are willing to warranty work done last year. Most dealers, if you're lucky, will warranty work for 90 days ..... after that ..... fuhgedaboutit .....
Second, it is tough to disagree with the dealer's diagnosis without actually inspecting the system. They could be right, they could be lying to you ..... I have no idea which it is.
Finally, what are your choices ??? You could take the car to another shop and get a second opinion .... you could do the work yourself .... or just get out the credit card and let the dealer fix it ..... that's pretty much it.
Frankly I think they are full of dung!
Is the park position moving from place to place? Has it been raining alot there lately? Any work using GM parts is warranty for 12 months, right? Have you milked the cars udders lately?
Just before they started parking straight up, the wife and I drove to Santa Fe in a Full wiper speed deluge. Does a cow and flat rock tell you how hard it was raining and yes they always park straight up.
