Is there a way to retrofit and bimodal exhaust system like on the C6Z into a borla or any other after exhaust system? I love the sound of the borlas, but coming into a neighborhood late at night is sometimes annoying to the neighbors. Soon I will have long tubes on as well and I don't want to have to get rid of the exhaust I have now.
It's made by B&B and comes with everything necessary to make your current non-NPP car function correctly with this aftermarket bi-modal exhaust. And it sounds great!!!
That's the one for the C6. I know that B&B put a feeler out here on the forum awhile back asking if people would be interested in that kit for the C5. I would try contacting B&B (Billy Boat Exhaust) directly to see if they ever released anything for the C5.
Thanks for the responses. For the record I would never want this, but when you have a car with an intake, long tube, and borla the sound starts to get amazing for me, but really pisses of the neighbors.
If I could find a good two mode system for the C5 I would buy it. My main reason for wanting it, on a long hall trip excess exhaust noise isn't very pleasurable to listen to. However, when my foot steps into the throttle not only do I want to hear it, I like the idea of reduced back pressure. I'm sure there is a power gain, though it might not be all that much.
The most simple/inexpensive solution would be to trade your borlas for say a set of corsa(could probably do an even up swap) then add a set of electric cut outs!! For example,,Corsa touring still sounds better than stockers,,yet are not offensive to anyone (except maybe at WOT/high RPM) yet open cut outs let you be as rowdy as you want to be,,,you have it all!! Lots of threads about them I believe DHM makes a low profile, quality unit with a good warranty at a fair price!
I just got some B&B bullets and they sound straight up nasty with my LT's and cam. I like them cruising with the windows down but annoying when driving down the highway with the windows up. I would love to have something that could be quieter like the TI's and then louder like the bullets with the flip of a switch.

Corsa Touring is the way to Go. No drone sound awsum at WOT.

If you can wait, we've just developed our own exhaust valves and will have a multi-stage exhaust available for the C6 within a few months.
I talked to B&B at the Carlisle show and said there still kicking the idea around for the C5, maybe this winter or spring a system will be released. Hopefully, I heard it on a C6 ZO6 and its a awesome an system!
