Does anyone know why?
Does anyone know why there are no sightglasses on the air conditioners of corvette or any cars anymore? It used to be so easy to check to see if the system needed topping off. I guess it is a save money thing? Not to slam GM, but my wife's Lexus does have a sightglass.

What exactly do you need to see? Evaluating the pressure on the low and high side, and temperature out the vents, should tell you what you need to know about about the system.

R134 doesn't always operate with a clear sightglass as the old R12 does. A sightglass isn't the proper way to evaluate charge on 134 that's why they don't waste the money putting them in.
