I have an 02 6 sp vert with 32K on the odometer. It has a blackwing and TI exhaust and that is it as far as mods. I just put new GM iridiums and gmpp wires on it and it seems to run fine. Idle is a little rougher than I like but other than that it goes like hell.
I hear a lot of talk here about getting a "tune" on the car. What exactly does that entail and what gains/benifits if any would I see. I'm of the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" mindset. But if it would wake the car up a little or buy me some even better mileage then I'm on board with that. Thanks.
A tuner makes adjustments to the program in the PCM that sets air fuel ratios, timing, spark dwell etc. they can also turn off thing slike the air pressure sensors, O2 sensor codes, re set the rpm limits, automatic transmission set points, the temperature at which your fans turn on, etc.
